UVCA Long-time Executive Director Retires; New Executive Director Named
.

Afton, VA - After serving as Executive Director of the Unified Virginia Chiropractic Association (UVCA) for 21 years, Julie Connolly is retiring to focus on her family and the Association has named Ms. Court Squires, from Northern Va., its new Executive Director.
.

Serving the chiropractic profession has been Connolly’s vocation for nearly 30 years, ever since she was able to ditch the pills she relied on to manage chronic Fibromyalgia pain in favor of chiropractic care. Prior to her role at UVCA, she served for seven years as a Vice President at the American Chiropractic Association and enjoyed a rewarding career in corporate and association management, sales and customer service, and business development.
.

Ms. Connolly was especially proud to have supported UVCA leadership during the multi-year process that led to the 2009 unification of the Virginia Chiropractic Association and Virginia Society of Chiropractors, a unity that remains strong. During her tenure, UVCA has grown, expanded benefits, built a team, and weathered economic ups and downs within the context of a challenging healthcare arena, a pandemic, and an evolving profession, as Ms. Connolly notes:
.

“I’m grateful to have been along for the ride across Virginia – sometimes bumpy but always forward – these past two decades. Now it is time for a new director to take UVCA to the next level, and Court and I are working together to ensure a smooth transition.”
.

Squires was selected by the UVCA Board of Directors after an extensive search process, and brings 20 years of experience launching, developing, implementing, and executing successful campaigns, partnerships, and both public and private initiatives.
.

Said UVCA President Dr. Michelle Rose: “Her experience in business, human resources, financial management, and nonprofit operations is well suited to the UVCA’s needs. From working with volunteer boards and other stakeholders, training and managing teams, cultivating productive collaborations, and developing successful programs, to keeping up with the latest social and technological trends and supporting public health and welfare advocacy groups, she has demonstrated empathy, professionalism, and strategy.”
.

Squires holds a master’s in organizational dynamics (Leadership / Sustainable Development) from the University of Pennsylvania, an International Business Certificate from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a dual concentration in journalism and conservation biology from Boston University.
.

The UVCA team is very well poised for this next chapter.
